"It is impossible for an atheist
to stay in Shelly's Cottages. the evidence of God is
all around this place! My wife and I are just about
to end our honeymoon and we have been so blessed by
Troy and Kim's little piece of heaven. the cottage was
amazing and homie, the hot tubs was incredible and the
hospitality rivals any place I have ever been! Kim is
an angel sent down to watch over all of her guests.
Highlights of our trip have been too numerous to count
but here are a few: dinner at Orlandos in downtown Estes,
hiking Bear Lake, Alberta Falls, Mills Lake, witnessing
the spillway at Ralph Price Reservoir in Button Rock,
Trail Ridge Road, just sitting by the river, property
and grilling hamburgers. Thanks so much once again to
Kim and Troy. The memories of your home will forever
be etched in our hearts.

"Shelly's is a honeymooner's dream!
My husband and I just go married on the 29th of July
and coming to Shelly's Was great! Our journey took 11
hours, but it was definitely worth it! Our cabin was
perfect! The pictures on the internet can't even begin
to show how beautiful it really is! We had so much fun
playing horse shoes, wading in the river and fishing.
We took a trip up to the Rocky Mountain National Park-
what a wonderful way to see God's work all around you!
We love this place so much. Shelly's will
be a great place for us to come and keep our dream alive
for years to come! We plan on making many more tips
back. Thanks so much for everything. Keep up the great
work!

city of Lyons, nestled between mountain hills. This

"WOW! I've wanted to visit Shelly's
Cottages for a number of years, finally took the initiative.
Oh, what I've missed. The bed is as comfortable as my
own if not more so. Hearing the river is so relaxing,
the hot tub at night when the stars seem so close you
could pluck them out of the sky was magnificent. Sitting
out on the porch reading a book in the quiet was fantastic.
What a great place you have here! Here alone in the
peace and quiet with no phone, fax machine, voice mail,
patients, doctors, cars, traffic, etc. I could stay
here forever. But, I'll return soon. Great Place."

"Dear Chartier family and Nanook,
Again another wonderful stay. It is among the treasured
moments of our lives every year when we get to come
here at least 2 times a year. We have tried several
other spots in Colorado over the two years we didn't
visit you and Troy but as you know, by now our last
2 visits is where we will always come!! Nowhere else.
Your family has made this our place for life. You run
a first class! Perfect place! We’ve been to top
notch resorts in other countries, but this is our 2nd
home. Because you folks and your place is the best we’ve

We came for our 18th wedding anniversary and of course
loved being here again. Kim and Troy, what a blessing

"My husband and I came here after running a trail
marathon in Leadville! What a perfect place to relax
and recover!! The hot tub felt great on our weary legs
and love the way it was enclosed (private!) Yet you
can slide open windows for fresh air! Loved the sound
of the river and waking up to all the bird sounds! The
hummingbirds were fun to watch. What a peaceful, beautiful
setting you have here! We enjoyed our time in the national
park – came here 30 yrs ago when we were newlyweds
and this was our first time back since then! The hike
to Nymph, Dream and Emerald lakes was beautiful! Thank

"We came here for our 6th wedding anniversary.
We have passed by this place many times in hopes of
staying here. Even when we were small children. We now
know what we were missing, and wish we had come sooner.
This is just a small piece of heaven, so tranquil and
relaxing. Let us know if you need any part time caretakers,
love gardening, and landscaping. By the way, don’t
change a thing. If you did it would take away from this
mountainous feel and seem more like a hotel. God bless
you!! May he give you the strength to keep this place

"We got married on the 11th of June and started
out on our adventure of a honeymoon on the 12th. We
got here on Monday the 13th. We were completely shocked
when we saw how beautiful it is over here at Shelly’s.
The hot tub is fabulous. We had lots of privacy and
when we did need something she was always there to help.
Staying here was a wonderful experience and we hope

"I have visited the Estes area for many times and
have enjoyed the beauty this area holds for years.
I love to hike the RMNP, however crutches made that
impossible this trip. We found Shelly's on the
web and they helped me create the perfect romantic getaway....
complete with flowers. We enjoyed last night sitting
by the stream as the wind danced through the trees.

cross the stream and 31 elk on the side of the mountain

We are first timers here at Shelly’s Cottages,
staying here for our honeymoon. We have enjoyed it so
much that we have decided to come here every year for
our anniversary. What a cozy, tranquil escape from reality.
The hot tub was great, especially after our hike up
the Oizel Falls on Sunday (highly recommended by the
way). We plan to hike Gem Lake on our way home in the
morning. We found this place on the web, and I was a
little worried having never been here, but it was by
far a great find! We look forward to many more getaways
in the future! Thank you for the A+ hospitality. We

Incredible! We were so booking our next visit as we
leave today if possible. “Quentin” (hummingbird
that a previous guest named) did not visit us but we
were never here between 8-9PM. We were at Oskar Blues
– check it out- good food, good beer, good music,
great people. We did find a hummingbird next near a
great little fishing hole on the other side of the property.

We are here on our honeymoon ? This is my first experience
with snow and “real” winter, and staying
here really has made it an amazing trip. These cabins
are just close enough to town to be convenient and just
far enough out to feel secluded and romantic. The property
is beautiful, the owners so very friendly and helpful
and the cabins just right. Cooking in the little kitchen
is romantic, and we loved all the elements mentioned
by the previous guests too. I definitely hope we can
make a trip up here again – in the summer next
time! This is the perfect place to get away on a relaxing
vacation. Thank you for helping make out honeymoon incredible.

We had a wonderful time staying here the past 3 days…we
so do not want to leave! Your rooms are so cozy &
the hot tub was awesome and relaxing. I can’t
wait to come back again. We could not have picked a
better place to come for our honeymoon.

Every soul longs for and deserves to have its mate!
And if you are lucky enough to have found it –
you make sure to care for it always! What a better way
to do that than to come here- soulful relaxation in
simplistic tranquility. This weekend – this necessary
getaway is what keeps our love, best friendship and
partnership alive. This trip was my Christmas gif to
my love and we have waited 6 months for the perfect
weekend to come. We don’t need to rekindle our
love, we come to celebrate it! We will forever treasure
our first stay here as it has been just that magical

We have stayed at many other locations here and in Estes
Park. Shelly’s Cottages is the best so far. The
set up of the cabin is perfect. Having a full kitchen
is just what we were looking for. We also love the private
hot tub! Thank you for a wonderful relaxing weekend!

This was our 1st visit to Shelly’s Cottages and
we will return again. My husband and I are celebrating
our 10 year anniversary and I am so glad that we chose
to stay here. We visited Estes Park and the RMNP during
the day and it was relaxing to come here to escape the
crowded areas. We enjoyed sitting by the river reading
books about the area. We enjoyed sitting by the river

and well needed after hiking some of the challenging
trails in the park. Thanks to the hot tub, we were not
sore from hiking. We will visit again and the memories
of Shelly’s Cottages will be awesome to remember
and we cant wait to share our memories with our friends

We’ve been coming here for almost 10 years and
in that time, there have been quite a few changes. The
furniture has almost all been moved; and every one of
us has moved at least once. The hot tub is different;
and all but one of us has started at least one different
job. We got a new oven; one of us has a bun in her oven.
The loveseat is new; all of us have experience a new
love in their lives whether it be a man, career, a hobby
or a grandbaby. But with all these changes, the structure
remains the same, just like with us. The glue that holds
us together cannot change, for it is made up solely
of US. Thank you Shelly’s for always bringing

We were here the fist time in 5/2007 and we came back
to the same cabin. So nice to get away from the city,
job and kids. We enjoyed our stay. The mountains are
beautiful with fresh white powder. The mountains are
beautiful no matter what the season. The hospitality
was the best. I suggest to everyone to get away up here
